“I've previously only bought iPhones and every time I've upgraded I've talked myself out of switching to a Samsung - even though I've wanted too - because I thought it would be really difficult to learn a new OS. How wrong I was! It took me about 10 minutes to get the phone up and running, then I plugged in a lightning to USB-C connector (I had to borrow one of these), fired up the Samsung Smart Switch app and 28 minutes later it had copied just about everything over from by iPhone (music, pictures, app data, etc) to my new phone. The only thing left to do was download some apps and configure the phone settings to my preferences. Simple.
As far as the phone goes (Samsung A52s 5G) I couldn't be happier. The OS is easy to get the hang of (not too different from Apple's iOS really). The 5 cameras are fantastic (although there are a lot of settings to get used too) and give really great results. The screen resolution and colours are excellent and it scrolls really smoothly. Battery life is amazing too (I get about 4-5 weekdays days per charge, less at the weekends as I use it more). All the apps are quick to load and use. The 128Gb of inbuilt storage is enough for me so I doubt I'll need to add to it, but good to know that the option to add an SD card for a couple of quid is there should I need too (maybe Apple should think about this!).
To top all this off, I found out after I bought it that I could claim a free pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Live (worth about £150)! My claim has been accepted but they haven't been delivered yet so I can't comment on their performance. They have noise cancelling though so should hopefully be good.
All-in-all I'm more than pleased with my purchase and I'm pretty confident that I won't go back to Apple unless Samsung make some really bad mistakes with their future phones.
