“The first S7 I received had a faulty headphones socked so was returned. The replacement would not map my SD card and support was unable to resolve the issue so I now await my second replacement.
Also the box in which the replacement arrived had been forced open, whilst the seal was intact.”
“For some unknown reason, on latest version of the handset Samsung removed the option to turn of the camera sound so be prepared to get weird looks as people turn around hearing you taking a picture of your meal.
Although the phones a nice shape as with all Samsung phones, it is over sensitive, Slightest touch will turn on the phone or exit an app when you do not want to.
I found the phone turned on in my pocket making phone calls.
The build is nice but I would say poor quality, i have, as we all do, windows, i can rub them, wash then, even slightly knock them and nothing happens.
I have had this phone 3 weeks and it already has a deep scratch on the camera lens.
We are talking about what is supposed to be toughened glass.
To get same type of scratch on a window id need a diamond ring.
To scratch, this phone lens all i need to do was place on a table top.
I am sure the glass is CHEAP because to many friends have had broken screens on what is supposed to be reinforced glass!
Speakers are much louder than my iphone but its annoying for the phone to keep telling me having the sound up high can damage my ears when the headphones are in, i get the idea, i do not need to be told every time.

I love the phone, I do not miss using my iphone as much as i thought i would, Samsung even supply a device with the phone to directly connect it to an iphone or other phones to transfer EVERYTHING which i thought was really cool.
All my contacts, photos, music, movies notes, bookmarks ect.
If i had one issue with it, well two, the cheap glass and the over sensitive buttons.”

“Looks and feels like a premium phone - as it should given where it sits in terms of price range.
First off, the Camera:
It really is very good and more than capable, in fact wasted if used just for holiday snaps. I use a good quality DSLR for most of my photos and it obviously cannot compete but being splash proof makes it ideal for taking to the beach or pool where it comes into its' own.
The burst shots are very good but it is only under low light photos that I discovered this is an exceptional camera phone. My wife used it for a night shot at a beach in Portugal looking back at a restauarnt which was partly lit up and the image could have been taken by a professional photographer with a DSLR camera with the lens alone costing significantly more than the phone.
The phone screen is fine for viewing the images but it is not until you download the images and view them on a larger screen that you can truly appreciate the quality of the camera. Try it and be amazed.
I have tended to buy the latest Apple phone but was tempted by the ease of use of another Samsung phone (J5) provided to me through work.
The fact you can insert a micro memory card which allows you to take plenty of images and keep your music collection is brilliant and without this I would probably not have got this phone.
Now the not so good bits, transferring pictures onto a normal windows laptop is simple and straight forward. Not so if you want to transfer it onto a Macbook. It is a bit of a pain having to download an app and copy the images into a separate folder before importing the images into Apples default Photo program.
Also there is a slight delay when making calls, particularly when the phone is connected through bluetooth to my car. Never had this with either Blackberry or various iterations of the iPhone (up to the iPhone 6S).
Samsung's pre-loaded apps are a bit excessive but I do like the fact I can check my blood pressure using their health app. The activity tracker is not always accurate but it is consistent in it's inaccuracy so if you are looking to measure how much activity you are doing you can at least know if you are increasing your levels. Most people who are serious about their fitness will probably have a dedicated tracker so this is probably not important.
Music quality is OK but it is worth investing in a decent set of earphones if you intend to listen for long periods of time.
I don't spend much (or indeed any time) playing games on it so cannot comment on how good it is or if the processor speeds are adequate for the latest mobile games. I suspect the screen quality will be a big draw for those wanting to while away the hours gaming.
The battery life is better than the 6S as I can get away with almost 2 days between charging by limiting use (the 6S barely lasts a day) and this despite the fact the clock says on all the time.
So would I get another S7? Probably yes if the price was better. Will it be better than the the soon to be iPhone 7. We shall have to wait and see.
It is certainly better than the iPhone 6S ( I have bought 2 for my wife and youngest daughter who love Apple) so can directly compare them.
Do I wish I'd gone for the S7 Edge? Now there is a thought.”
