“Having come from a Motorola Nexus 6 the S8 plus seemed like a good fit.
The screen is gorgeous, menu system a dream with hints of where to go and the S8 launcher being very pleasant to use.
The single bottom firing speaker is however poor. For a phone that is marketed for gamers and video playback you would think the sound would be much better. I find I have no choice but to use a Bluetooth speaker to get a decent sound as far too often you end up covering the speaker either while gaming or the sound just being too poor for video playback. A real shame.
The pre installed software is minimal with some software being able to be uninstalled, others you could just disable.
The battery life is great tho, even after gaming for a few hours. Charging is quick.
Bixby - as yet ive not used it as it needs to be updated before working out of the box. I have Google assistant, and don't need 2 assistants at the same time. The button can be a little annoying, although so far only a hand full of times.
Speaking of which - button placement to pretty bad. The power button is on the right side a third down. On the left are the volume and Bixby buttons. I find it trying to turn the screen off with one hand I will always cancel it out with either a volume press or Bixby press. Annoying..
The camera is amazing with fab options and impressive performance across the board, even in low light conditions.
The performance is great for gaming and full screen mode works pretty good. Not all games like it or video playback software.
Overall a great phone let down by terrible sound quality and poor placement of buttons.”
