I somewhat like the edge curves but sometimes content is in them and they reflect light making it tricky to see. The holding hand can do accidental presses on the sides. There is still some side bezel behind them.
A few little software UX issues mostly around the lock screen and AOD. LG seem better in this area.
Bixby button needed remapping to Google Assistant and hold for flashlight.
Vodafone add a couple of weeks delay to Samsung's firmware updates, they're not as bad as other UK networks though - looking at you EE.
Everything else is good. Speaker sounds great. Wireless charging. Cameras.
I'd compare with the LG V35, if it existed in my region and was priced like the G7.
Bit early to ask about battery life. Ask in 18 months when it's degraded and I can't swap it easily.”
