The PK22 Lounge chair was first introduced in 1956 and it brought Kjaerholm into the forefront of furniture design. The chair was an immediate success, both critically, (winning the Grand Prix at the 1957 Xi Triennale di Milano) and commercially (sales were strong enough to provide funds for subsequent designs.) The chair also largely contributed to Kjaerholm winning the Lunning Prise, Scandinavian's most prestigious award for design and applied art in 1958. The PK22 lounge chair consists of a spring steel structure with one pair of legs, one pair of crossbars and one pair of side frames. Using brushed-satin, 304 stainless steel, the frames are joined with machine screws and covered with either 2mm thick leather or woven rattan cane. Our chair is authentic in all respects, from the dimensions, to the use of stainless steel snaps for securing the leather, to precision of the fasteners. We offer our chair in three 2.0mm thick leather colors (black, brown and white). The PK22 is a delight to sit in, albeit it is a low seating height. The design is timeless, however, and a cane version of this chair is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Rohssko Museum in Gothenborg, Sweden.

I am very pleased with my 2 chairs. I bought them to replace 2 original PK22 Lounge chairs I had for about 24 years. My cat had scratched the leather and then my new rescue puppy chewed off the corners of both chairs. They had become much more expensive over the years and these copies look very close to the originals and are quite comfortable....

The beauty of the PK22 chair is inherit from its designer, Poul Kjaerholm. When creating a facsimile of a classic work of art, the challenge must be sourcing the materials and craftmanship of a high enough quality to delivers the same aha-moment as when one sees the original. When I first saw our PK22 chair from ModernClassic.Com it was definitly an Aha-Moment for us.
