We use this type puncher in the 3-6 classroom. It is the perfect size for younger children and older ones who need to practice the proper pencil grip. We punch out all sorts of things- from all the puzzle maps, to fractions, flower puzzles- you name it- we punch it!

Love this puncher, great size for finger hold and pencil training. Doesn't block line as larger punchers do.

Perfect for a four (and 44) year old's hands. Easy to use and allows a child to hold it just as they would a pencil. Also I think this is MUCH safer than using a traditional push pins, even the jump ones. Worth the investment especially if it will get repeated use.

This is the best puncher available to Montessori schools. It allows for development of fine motor coordination while the children punch out all sorts of things, and is definitely a source of great exploration in our classroom.

Recently here in SD we had the death of a 3 year old at a Montessori school. It was tragic. He choked on a push pin. I have always used regular push pins for push punching but after what happened I realized that push pins in my classroom had to go. I ordered these punchers and they are wonderful. To grip them, the hand has to hold them just as a pencil, which was not the case with regular push pins. I didn't realize what an great addition they would be to the classroom. If you are using push pins, you should try these instead. They are well made and will last for a long time.

This product helps the child to perfect the pincer grip, as well as create interesting work in the classroom. Once one child starts the punch out lesson, others will want to join in as well.
