“I was looking at the photos I took of the bottom of the lift and noticed that nothing goes beyond the bottom of the lift. I thinking that if somehow the bottom of the lift scaped the bottom while going down a slope with the rv the slide could be damaged, hypothetically could a piece of stainless steel be welded to the bottom of the lift acting as a skid plate and at the same time strengthening both sides of the slide channel. Just a thought. I am always looking at different angles.”
Monte,
Thanks for your picture and suggestion about welding a steel cap on the bottom of the lift system. We appreciate your input. We haven't have any reports of damage like you've suggested at this point. It is important to set the right height from the ground using the adjustable bracket and maximize clearance from the ground. I've sent your note to engineering for consideration.
Thank you!
“Love my MoTow! We have a 43 lb and a 73 lb electric bike. The heavy bike will only fit on the outside of the bike rack but it holds it well. We are in our 70's so it is wonderful to not have to lift the bikes to get them on a rack. Jill was wonderful in helping with this purchase that I did in 2 separate orders. I had to do an extension to clear the Jeep wheel. I was going to use my own bike rack but then decided I like the simplicity of the Motow bike rack so I ordered that after the lift. We are using a drill to lift it up and down and it works great.”
Thank you for your wonderful review and all your pictures, Pamela! I'm so glad you are loving our gear. At MoTow we aim to make it easy for all ages to stay active and manage their heavy bikes on trips, just like you are doing. You are a VERY FINE example! (I love your orange Jeep and bright yellow bikes too!)
“It's a work of art! Works perfectly! It's a back saver.
No one makes racks to fit 2 step thru ebikes...big ones...a Freesky Rocky, and a Freesky Wild Cat... so I'm welding my own mounts to go with the Elevate Ebike rack. They 2 bikes together are 180 lbs (plus the rack and the custom welded holders). The MoTow lifts these like they are feathers!
Very satisfied!!”
“Beautifully and very sturdily constructed. The stainless steel makes it an attractive addition to my RV. I followed instructions for distance from RV hitch pin and the product fit perfectly. As previously noted the products hitch pin location is non standard so I had to drill a new hole in my bike rack’s receiver bar.”
“I purchased a Mo Tow with a motor. I use it on my two Rad step though bikes plus my Hollywood bike rake. I am enjoying not having to lift my bikes up and down to put them on or off my bike rack, so I can enjoy riding them. I did have to call Mo Tow right after I received my Mo Tow. The staff was very professional and helpful.
Thank you”
“The product finiish looks great, welds look well done, attaches to car receiver okay. Exceptions are the following:
1. The 5/8" hole in the receiver to attach a bike rack, or receiver extension, seems not to be drilled in a standard position. I had to cut off 5/16 of my bike rack hitch to get to a hole, then enlarge that hole to be able to attach to the lift. The lift hole is placed horizontally too close to the vertical lift bar.
2. The vertical lift travel arm, housing the screw, could be a tighter fit with its main vertical support, it wobbles side to side.
3. The electric lift motor works well but is a little slow.
4. Little contact from seller after placing the order. The only acknowledgment was they received my payment and order number. No shipping info, delivery date.”
Richard,
Thank you for leaving your review!
What kind of bike rack are you attaching to the Hitch Lift? We haven't had any complaints regarding the hole placement/size before, so I would love to chat about how we can improve our product.
You should have received emails from UPS regarding the shipping information and shipping ETA. Please contact us if you did not receive those, as that might be an issue on our email provider's end.
If you have any questions or want to chat about the fitment of your bike rack to the Hitch Lift please reach out.
We hope you love your MoTow!
