I spent a year training in Kyoto and since then had been using an old usuba that the chef had given me when I left. But I sharpened it so much and it got so small. Decided it was time to get a new usuba. I've really worked hard on my knife skills and thought I deserve to get a nice Nenohi knife with a high price tag! The usuba I was using was a kamagata as well so I guess I chse this one just because of that. The sharpness is amazing and the kyomen finish looks awesome. The only complaint I have is that it's slightly harder to sharpen than the carbon steel usuba I was using beore.
