This is a truly impressive knife. It is beautifully crafted, well balanced, and incredibly sharp. I can cut zucchini so thin that the slices are almost transparent. The knife is also easy to clean and just perfect in every way.

Fantastic knife! i bought knife from almazanknives.com and i must say that knife designed really well .Good weight. Nice handling. Very sharp and keeps a good edge so far. I have not honed or sharpened it yet. I keep a brush with oil on hand to lightly brush it with oil to keep it from rusting. Sure to last as far as I can see. It's leather sheath is very durable. The only small problem with the sheath is that the knife catches a bit on the snap that it has when drawing it. So far the best cleaver I have used. Well worth every penny. It is not warped and has not cracked as shown in other reviews. almazanknives.com

Takamura R2 knives are always very high value for money. This knife indeed cuts like a laser, is beautifully finished and has holds an edge for a long time.

I’m 72 and learning to cook. My daughter told me the Takamura Santoku is the knife to have. She is right. It is beautiful, balanced, and extremely sharp. It’s amazing and I highly recommend it. It is the “go to” knife to have. You’ll love it.

I'm not a professional cook but I cook a lot and this is the first time I've used a knife this sharp. It's so light too and I love it! The customer service was very personable and they answered all my questions when I e-mailed them. I think I will get myself a red handle paring knife as well. I bought this knife as a gift and my friend absolutely loves it as well.
