After looking at this knife and overthinking it for wayyyy too long, I finally took the plunge and got it. It is by far the best knife I have and I don't regret splurging on it at all. Edge retention and overall sharpness of the blade is unreal. Not to mention it looks amazing.

This is a knife of beauty and thus is a joy to use. I like the small handle because I have small hands. I would recommend.

It was a miracle... stopped in to MTC and Sked the silly question, did my knives arrrive yet. I left with 2 Takamura Damascus knives and Shapton stones. These knives perform as expected. Exceptional balance, razor sharp and just feel terrific in my hand. They are not for the faint of heart because you do have to eventually sharpen them but in the meantime be able to handle the sharpness of the blade.

I've looked and looked for a new knife for so long. Always had been a Kikuichi fan, but wanted to see what else is out there. Was a pricey purchase, but i appreciate the efforts and craftsmanship that went into this knife. Can't wait to get my next one!

This knife is incredibly light and sharp. It also holds an edge very well. The first thing I cut was a brick of parmesan cheese. It cut through it with almost no effort and I was also able to cut slices off of the brick that you could see through with no crumbling at all. This has quickly become my favorite knife.

I love the weight of this knife and how sharp it is. It's much lighter than similar quality Western knives, but it makes doing detail work much easier. Requires very little pressure to cut through. It also comes with a sheath (nice little bonus)

although I'm not a professional, i've had a keen draw to good knives for many years. This is hands down the best general purpose knife I've ever owned! the edge is easy to maintain with the right stones (i use shapton) and is so sharp my wife is scared of it. worth every penny!
