I bought this for my boss who has used it several times and says he loves it. One of the best knives he's used. Several people asked him what he wanted for Christmas to which he replied he didn't know. But when he received this knife he was very happy.

What should have taken 2 days receive took over a week and I live in brooklyn - horrible communication with whoever takes care of shipping - you would think a 700 dollar knife would receive a little bit better customer service

This Sujihiki is becoming my favorite knife in my collection. Truly an extension of my hands, the razor sharp edge is unbelievably impressive. Prepping vegetables to slicing sashimi to plating a cote de beouf, it puts a smile on my face every time. I highly recommend any serious cook to add this tool to their knife bag.

First and foremost, this knife looks beautiful. The intriguing thing about this knife the surprising lightness and unbelievable balance. The weight is distributed evenly throughout and it's very comfortable to hold. The sharpness of the metal is astonishing and it cuts delicately in the sense that it doesn't even feel like you're cutting through something. The initial blade is extremely sharp, but I've tested the power of the knife by gradually cutting slightly tougher cuts of meat, and it has proved to be a great knife.

The Takamura knife is hands down one of the best knives I have ever used. Starting with its lightness and comfortable handle , it feels like an extension of my hand. It slices with ease and precision without any pressure , it's all in the sharp blade and the craftsmanship. It's a knife that's needed a lot less sharpening then other knives I have used ... Simply an exquisite tool

This was a splurge but worth every penny. I came across this knife last weekend at Star Chefs ICC and after visiting the booth every day, I finally had to buy it on the last day. Was great to have my name and engraved and meet the guys who make these knives. I had never come across high speed powdered steel before but I was told it's usually used to cut other steel. But it still has a good amount of flexibility. I didn't get to try this knife but I did cut with the other gyuto with black handle that has the same core steel. What a work of art! This knife is not only beautiful but I know it's gonna make my food much better. I've already recommended this to many people!
