Great stones and the base really helps make sharpening easier!

I'm really enjoying these stones. Love the feel of the stones as well as the holder. I've always used the baked ceramic stones, and these seem to cut steel a lot faster. Even use my wabocho on them. The only thing is I don't use the 16000 that much... Shipping was pretty cheap and this website is interesting too!

Great product! I bought a set at Star Chefs for a special price. Was convinced after I spent some time talking to Harrelson, the US rep for Shapton. I didn't own a set of stones and now that I look back at it I feel embarassed that this was my first stone purchase. I bought a great knife and great stones from these guys and I'm digging MTC Kitchen already!

I've always used other brands (the so-called baked stones) but the people at the store recommended this to me and let me try out the sample set there. You can immediately tell the difference. These stones help you sharpen faster than any other ones. Even for my carbon steel knives. I highly recommend Shapton glass stones! First I thought the glass side was for sharpening and I looked at it doubtfully but apparently it's there so you can use it until the stone is paper thin.

I always use other Shapton stones- the orange one, but someone show me this one. Very good stone and it make sharpening very fast. Very impressive! The holder also very steady.

I love these stones. My friend recommended them to me and now I don't think I could go back to using regular stones. I love that I don't have to soak them in water and the design is so sleek and cool. All my co-workers asked me about them. They really do make sharpening a lot easier.
