First knife I purchased was a chinese cleaver KF1303 and then yoshimi bunka. I liked the height of the cleaver and overall use, but I was surprised how often I had to sharpen it. The Yoshimi nakiri is a workhorse. It stays shaper much longer giving credit to the aogami super and craftsmanship. finish and handle are great

I am new to the world of Japanese knives so I did a lot of research, reading reviews, watching videos on how these knives are made, as well as, care and sharpening videos. I cut a lot of veggies in my house ao I landed on wanting a nakiri knife. This knife is the best and sharpest knife I’ve ever used! It is thin, we’ll balanced, and looks amazing! The handle is also very comfy fo my large hands, and also works well for my wife’s petite hands! This is probably the best knife I’ll ever own!

If you're after a Nakiri, you can't go wrong with this one. Excellent fit and finish and the AS steel takes a great edge. The AS is starting to patina nicely, though more slowly than some of my other AS knives. There is nice rounding on the choil and spine which make this knife very comfortable to hold in a pinch grip. I would not hesitate to buy another Yoshimi Kato knife in the future!

Gorgeous knife as smooth as butter cutting through vegetables and lots of fun for chopping herbs. It's the sharpest on our magnet even though we regularly use sharpening stones on our chef's knives, dry them immediately, etc. It's new still, but unparalleled. Love this purchase.
