Oolong Tea Brewing
White tea, Green tea, Oolong tea, Pu-erh, and Black tea are all from the same plant, Camelia sinensis. Oolong tea is produced by allowing the tea leaves to oxidize for a short time after picking. Oxidation is the process which makes the leaves turn dark on exposure to oxygen. Oolong is semi-oxidized; black tea is fully oxidized; and green tea is un-oxidized.
Instructions: Can be brewed like a loose leaf tea. Boil water (use at around 85-90°C) and add 1 teaspoon of tea per cup of water. Pour your water over the tea and allow it to steep for only 45 seconds to 1 minute. You can rebrew the same tea 3 to 4 times, increasing the brewing time by an additional 15 seconds for each successive steeping.
