Sterling Silver Connemara Marble St Brigid's Cross PendantMade in Ireland.St Brigid is the female patron saint of Ireland. We celebrate her day on the the fist day of Spring, 1st February. The cross was originally made from rushes and reeds hence its peculiar shape. It was hung over the door in houses believing it would protect the home from fire and evil spirits.
This striking sterling silver cross is inlaid with the beautiful green Connemara Marble stone. This famous stone is found exclusively on the west coast of Ireland. The marble has many properties including hard wearing and resistant to staining. Every piece of marble is a different shade of green ranging from a deep sage green to a pale green.
Price includes an 18" sterling silver trace chain which hangs from a polished bale.
