The two good things about this steamer is that the steam temp is perfect. It won’t scald me, and I like that. The other thing I like is the portability. But last night I used it for 10 mins, and left it on my bedside table afterwards because I have a cold and wanted to steam first thing in the am. I woke up, turned it on, battery dead. It just isn’t a big enough battery. And it can’t be used when plugged in which is a ridiculous design in 2024. So I go into my recording session dry, which is a drag. I’ll drink some tea. I also find that the amount of steam it produces is low compared to my old Vicks personal steamer. So I don’t feel like I get quite as much steam therapy. Sounds a little gross, but with my Vicks, after 10 mins, I was producing mucus and getting it out. With the mypurmist, I just don’t feel the benefits. It’s a pretty spendy steamer compared to the Vicks. All in all, I would say if the battery life were longer and it put out just a bit more steam, it would make a big difference in my opinion.

We appreciate your feedback as well as your continued support in giving Mypurmist a try! We strive to create durable, quality products. There are many important differences between a Mypurmist ultrapure steam inhaler and a Vicks steam inhaler. Generally Mypurmist is superior in terms of effectiveness, ease of use / convenience, and safety. Effectiveness: Mypurmist provides instant warm mist that has an optimal particle size of 6-10 microns. The humidity in the mask is 100% and the temperature is super accurate and adjustable between 100 and 115 degrees. Optimal particle size, maximum humidity and temperature and with no risk of scalding. Vicks takes 5-8 minutes to warm up and the temperature varies tremendously depending on amount of water in the reservoir, your distance to the mask and a crude mechanical ventilation that provides temperature adjustment. The particle side is broad between 8 and 30 microns and the variable temperature is generally much cooler than a Mypurmist. Both devices offers an aromatherapy option. Ease of use / convenience: Mypurmist has instant steam, is handheld, cordless and can be used at any angle (upright, laying down, reclining, even upside down). Easily use it anywhere. It also automatically cleans itself after use for 10 minutes. We even offer a handsfree strap for completely handsfree use. Vicks requires setup and preparation, a wait time of 5-8 minutes for warm up, and a cool down of 10 minutes after use before you can clean it up. It also has to sit on a table surface when using it. Safety: Mypurmist provides 99.9999% germ free steam and 99.97% HEPA purified air to cool the steam. The warm mist is 100 to 1,000 times more germ free than Vicks is claiming. Mypurmist will never scald a user and has several electronic and mechanical safety mechanisms built in. Vicks is 99.99% germ free. Vicks does not purify the cooling air. Vicks can easily scald a user by accidentally tipping the device so that scalding water hits you. These purity results are lab tested by 2 independent laboratories and the 99.99% purity is a claim made by Vicks. In summary, Mypurmist has superior effectiveness (particle size, humidity and temperature), ease of use and safety (purity and no risk of scalding) when compared to a Vicks inhaler.

My wife and I really enjoy the Mypuremist Free cordless inhaler. It really seems to help with our sinuses and breathing and we would definitely purchase it again. With that said I see two areas for improvement. 1} The head strap could use some improvement so that it attaches to the inhaler better and 2) the scent pack could fit a bit more securely. These are the only issues keeping me from a 5 star review.

Not as good as the old wired version I bought years ago and still well functionning . 1. When you need it there is not enough juice in the battery and you have to wait 1-2 hours for using it because is not working during charging. 2. After the final drying cycle of the tank, droplets of water remain inside which can produce moldings over time. 3. Loading the tank can only be done with the mini-tank bottles sold separately (a way to sell water at a much higher price) or with a large needle syringe. 4. Does not allow the use of reserves of 8 doses of aromatic oil (which is no longer found on the markets - another way to sell aromatic oil capsules more expensive!) General conclusion: The new product was designed for greater customer ripp-off at a higher selling price! But it's still a great product for inhaling on the way medicinal oils when you catch a cold or for treating synusitis!
