The instruction and hands-on training provided at this course were phenomenal. Tanner Braun and Todd Chastain were superb teachers who were patient and thorough with a diverse group of students. As a middle-aged RN gearing up to lead wilderness expeditions, I was initially a bit nervous to be in a group of young EMT graduates. Yet, the instructors ensured that the classroom atmosphere and exercises were collaborative, positive, and conducive to learning. I highly recommend this course. It is well done, fun, and will improve confidence!

Everything about the class was great, instructors, students, and setting. Hard to say what was best, but some great aspects were: diversity and dedication of the students, from the youngest in their teens to the oldest in their 70s; instructors were serious, not a minute was wasted, no one was ever a minute late, students nor instructors; scenarios were well planned and as realistic as could be imagined; and it was all great fun. Thank you for the experience. MH

Great instructors. Informative and fun, well worth taking. The instructors - Randy and Susan - were well prepared and were able to adjust the curriculum to suit the students abilities and weather outside. The wilderness scenarios were demanding and very educational. Highly recommended.

Instructors were the best. Scenario based training created a great way to learn new skills. Beautiful area to train.

I was there July 8-12th and attended the Wilderness 1st responder module with Randy Manuel. It was by far one of the best classes I've ever taken. I'm a firefighter/paramedic from Florida and have attended many ems classes over the past 19yrs. The classroom setting was comfortable, the instructor was engaging and knowledgeable and the outdoor scenarios were awesome. I look forward to taking another class there in Dec. I can't say enough about Instructor Randy Manuel he was patient, kind and taught me so much about backcountry medicine. It is completely different than front country medicine, you have to really think outside the box, challenging and rewarding. I recommend it to all Emt's,Medic's,nurses and doctors who are looking to take their careers a step further off the beaten path. Thank you Solo, Lori Clay FF/PM Wilderness EMT and 1st Responder
