“Our family of 5 with 3 teenagers had never been whitewater rafting. We had a total blast. Joseph was fantastic. He knows the Upper Pigeon backwards and forwards and exactly how to get the best splashes and thrills. He also knows how to keep us inside the boat. And so funny. We were surprised how even though we all paddled it wasn't hard work. One of our daughters enjoyed being the "odd" one and got the "princess" seat in the front of the boat. She didn't have to paddle and got the wettest. We bought the tickets inside the NOC store in Gatlinburg and saved a ton of money. The photographer snapped a lot of great pictures that when purchased on CD only ended up about $1 per photo. We highly recommend Nantahala.”

“Been rafting numerous times and this one had one of the best organized stations we've been to. Clean, well organized, plenty of parking, great bathhouse. The guides were great-funny, knowledgeable, eager to show their clients a good time. The river fills at noon (timed release) and they're not in a hurry to squeeze in extra trips so they wait until the river is ready to run. It's a short drive to the launch and the trip ends at base so no hot wet bus ride after being on the river. Plenty of pictures taken of the trip from shore which is great and the price is reasonable. Only thing keeping it from being terrific is that we had a small child with another family out in our raft so we didn't hit any of the good rapids head on as his parents were concerned about him staying in the raft. Otherwise the timed water release means there's always good water for rafting.”

“We have used NOC for various recreations on a few vacations now & we would highly recommend them! Johnny & Mac are great guides!! Very thorough instructors, as well as fun guys to go rafting. Mac yells, but he is not yelling at you, he's just yelling instructions & wants to make sure he has everyone's attention. If it wasn't an 11 hour drive we would be frequent customers!”

“We had a great time & our guide was fantastic! Would definitely do this trip again. I was not too long with plenty of excitement.”
