NOC is worth a drive and a visit even if you'd don't plan to raft. It sprawls across the rushing river and offers two restaurants and tons of water side seating to enjoy the sound, watch the rafters, read a book, or play with your dog. It is the most peaceful setting on a beautiful day. At the same time, it is vibrant and bustling with all the youth groups, tourists, afternoon motorcycle riders, etc. There are tons of shaded picnic tables with great views and bathrooms available. Plan a trip and enjoy a day outside with the family. Between lunch, taking pictures, hanging out and talking, we spent four hours on a Sunday after church without ever stepping foot in a boat. The nets course and zip lining are great additional dry activities for the kids.

I didn't go on the zip line personally, but my teens did. They both loved it and wished they could do it again. My daughter said it was the best thing she has ever done. While she can be a bit dramatic, it means it was amazing. They really liked their guides and saw some wonderful sights. My son even saw a fox down below. I would highly recommend this activity.

There are a lot of things to do here. Next time I would plan on spending the whole day and purchasing the day pass. My grandkids (5 and 8) loved climbing the tree top net adventure and easily passed an hour here. We took a nice walk down to Lake Fontana and also walked part of the Appalachian trail. Some of my family did the zip lining and loved it! All the staff were extremely helpful and showed us different places to do things. The little ones loved wading in the water, while the older teens and adults did the zip lining. My parents enjoyed watching all the activities on the river, as they were not able to zip line.

6 Grandchildren ages 7, 8, 10 had a wonderful day! Grandparents 70 and 73 had a wonderful day, too! We made reservations for 11am. The children did the zip line and the treetop skill course as many times as they wanted. We felt the staff was knowledgable in safety and conveyed this to the children as they put on the harnesses and safety gear. Fabulous fun! All of us would do this again!!!!

We spent several days at a nearby cabin and came to the NOC to zip line. We did the Zipline Adventure Park because our youngest child who is 9 didn't weigh enough to do the other one. We had a great time. You get two hours to do the two level obstacle course as many times as you want and can do the Zipline multiple times. We were worn out by the time we were done and our kids loved it. We also accessed the Appalachian Trail from here and did several day hikes which were great. There is a restaurant on site as well that has good food. We plan to go back and white water raft next time.

We stayed in Cherokee for the weekend and found out about the NOC and all the activities that they offer. We did the zip line adventure park. This has 2 obstacle courses that are 20' and 40' above the ground and a 600' long zip line that runs through the trees. It is very intimidating at first, but once you get started, you get over the fear factor. They offer white water rafting, kayaking, tubing, bike trails, several restaurants on site, pet friendly, beach area for the kids to play in the river, and so much more. The Great Smoky Mountain Railway Train comes by the NOC and makes a stop there for the passengers to get off the train and enjoy a picnic and the facilities as well.

My adult daughter and her son joined me on the Zip Line & Adventure 2 Hour adventure. It is hidden in the back of the property. There were people of all ages to include a number of children. There are 2 rope courses. 1 is more difficult than the other. There is also a nice zip Line. First of all I suggest you make sure if you are bringing a child make sure they are ready to do this adventure. We have done this adventure 2 times and both times there were a child of about 8 or so that froze on the course. Crying & screaming "they can't do it" is not pleasant, nor is the wait for the child to have to eventually have to be helped off the course. It wasted 30 minutes of our time this past time. Only 2 people are allowed on an obstacle at a time. This trip we had about 16 people doing the adventure at the same time. Waiting can be frustrating. I must say though it was challenging & fun when we had our turns. My daughter had zip lined previously. I had not and so was a little nervous but it was exhilarating. My turn though took about 25 minutes of waiting time. I gathered that they were low on employees that day so they did not have enough to cover all spots constantly. The wait was due to no one being ready to grasp & assist those coming in off the zip Line. It was a Monday in July. The place was busy. We did have a lot of fun. The guides/staff there were great & personable. All adventures looked sturdy & safe. We'd go back hoping less people allowed at the same time and more staff.

First time zipliners! We had an awesome experience! Greg and Hanna were the BEST GUIDES! They were helpful and fun to be with! If you are ever in the area, make this place one of your stops! Well worth it!
