“We had a great time. Definitely recommend doing the duckies even if it’s your first time white water rafting. My 11 yr old and my wife both did a single ducky even though they had never gone rafting before and I took my 9 yr old in a double ducky. Everyone did great!”

“The Nantahala is always fun but NOC makes it so much easier to enjoy the river. Being able to take out, hand off your equipment and walk to your car or a restaurant is the reason we use NOC. They have excellent safety briefings and rafts and kayaks are in good conditions. You can hike the Appalachian Trail from their site , pick up supplies and have refreshments. We haven’t tried their accommodations but plan to in the future. Having the capability of doing it all in one spot on the beautiful river is the reason we have been back for 24 years.”

“We had an amazing time with our daughter! This was her first trip in white water! I was very impressed with how the NOC handled keeping our family safe during a pandemic! Everything was sanitized! Life jackets, and all equipment including our Duckie! The staff are awesome and we can't wait to come back! Thanks NOC!”

“I love using a double duckie on the Nantahala. Although, I have used ones that were longer than the last one I used at NOC and the longer one is easier to steer. It is always fun being able to go down the river with a friend in the boat!”

“Great outfitter, great gear, but the person playing the educational video was not very helpful and seemed very distracted. We were given the wrong paddle set up for the double ducky.”

“We had a great time here and plan to go back again. Online booking was easy, the check in process was easy (get there early as parking was a bit difficult) the bus driver was funny/friendly and had a good energy. We are experienced with kayaking calm rivers, but have never done rapids so we played it safe and did the double ducky. Super fun, we had a great time. Next time we’ll kayak though to make it more challenging. Afterwards we hung out at the bar by the river for a while, which was a nice relaxing set up. Everyone we had an encounter with was super nice. We have plans to come back next year with the kids, maybe stay at one of the cabins on site. They have an outdoor jungle gym for little kids ages 3 and up, and a bunch of picnic tables with outdoor games”
