“Did a self guided trip down the Nantahala with my teen children after taking the "Raft Guide School". Stayed at Basecamp and everyone had a blast! My daughter is coming back k this summer with friends.”

“The Raft Guide School was an amazing experience for the Brooklyn to Alaska Project’s leaders. They learned a great deal and they loved every minute of their time at Nantahala. The instructors were demanding yet very kind. Rachel, who organized our trip was extremely efficient. We love the people at Nantahala. Thanks for everything!”

“NOC is a beautiful place to learn rafting. The instructors are fun, understanding and knowledgeable. I learned so much about rafting, safety and honestly about myself. The teachers always help give a confidence boost and never let you feel like you fail. Only learning experiences! All of the staff were wonderful, the living quarters are clean and comfy and the food is fantastic! What an amazing experience! After a week, I left with a certification in rafting and a new outlook on my abilities! I would recommend it to anyone!”

“Instructors were fantastic. They really want participants to learn the techniques and material while having fun. Food was top notch. Bathrooms were always clean. Highly recommend the Raft Guide course to anyone who loves rivers and the outdoors.”

“The instructors were wonderfully encouraging and very competent. Their knowledge of rafting and willingness to share that knowledge helped me feel confident (by the end of the week). I admit to being fearful of failing at the beginning. Patience and kind instruction brought me to say "I've got this" by the end of the week.”

“Guide school is a great time, you will meet a great batch of paddling friends. The instructors are amazing and will grow your skills regardless of your starting point. I will forever cherish this week at the NOC.”
