“Johnathan took my teenager granddaughters from not being able to holding their breath under water For three seconds to boat to boat rescues. The excitement and confidence I saw in their eyes at the end of the day was worth the cost and a nice tip. It was the highlight of their week with us.”

“Sarah R was our instructor & we learned so much about kayak safety & how to read the river. It was great to be able to bring our kayaks (sit on top). We took with us homework to do on our own as well. I would come back just for a fun kayak day with NOC.”

“Outstanding. Eli was our instructor, what a great person. Fun to be around, helpful, knowledgeable. We had two in the group, at very different levels, Eli was able to challenge both of us and help us improve. We love everything about NOC , what a great place with great people.”

“Mark was outstanding. He created the ideal learning environment for my 13 yr old. He instilled confidence without negating safety. This was his first time in a boat and he had him rolling within 10 mins and a fantastic experience on the Tuc ferrying, eddying and surfing. He is hooked and talking about Summer Camp. NOC exceeded expectations. Thanks David and Peter Caborn”

“My buddy and I wanted to improve our paddling skill and credentials and had a terrific day on the water with Curtis. We started on the flatwater of Fontana Lake where Curtis assessed our current skill levels and we progressively worked on our ability to roll (almost there!). After a hearty lunch from NOC we then ran the section of the Nantahala River ending with the falls and freestyle course right there at the NOC headquarters. It was quite a rush. Curtis was the right combination of patient and commanding, pushing us to use more and more new paddling techniques on the river. We ended the day feeling much more comfortable in whitewater and genuinely enjoyed the day with Curtis. We hope to come back again next year.”
