“Don't expect luxury, this is as bare bones as you get. That being said, it's a cheap and convenient room with heat, A/C, and electrical outlets. I didn't have to set up a tent, inflate a bedroll, or walk to the bathroom to get changed (though bathrooms are in a separate building). Remember to bring your own bedding and keep your expectations in line with what is offered. I enjoyed my stay and will book a Basecamp room again.”

“A simple room but accommodating! Comfortable and suitable for the purpose of housing a couple of Section Backpackers! It was good to spend time at NOC while passing through on the AT. Hope to return!”

“Been staying in NOC Basecamp for 25+ years when hiking in the area. It's nice to see that they are getting cleaned up some, deck boards getting replaced etc. Rooms smelled good, which is a huge improvement over 3 years ago. Rooms were clean and swept out. Bath/shower facilities were clean the entire weekend. Heat worked good in room (it was 25f out at night). Community kitchen could have been a little cleaner, but onsite EMT class residents didn't seem to care much about cleaning up after themselves. They have a new housekeeping manager (Carl) that came by and checked on us and he said he was working on improvements. The new decking was one thing you could see right away. The fact that the bathrooms were spotless every time was a huge plus. We'll stay here again.”

“I have now stayed at the NOC twice. First time was the Dogwood lodge and second time was the base camp. Both times I found a clean facility and friendly staff.”
