One issue with the box is that, with the camera in, the front cover fitting is extremely tight. To get it off again to access the SD card requires a screwdriver to lever it off.”

“On the one hand: it's good to have added protection for your camera - mine is in an exposed position, vulnerable to vandalism, and the security box protects the body of the camera (it's made of pretty strong metal) and means the memory card is impossible to remove (as long as you use a cable lock). On the other hand: the front of the camera is still exposed to any violent attack (impossible to put anything in front of the lens and sensor of course). Also, the box has to be fitted after you've set the camera up and turned it on, and it's difficult to fit it without moving the camera a bit and thus changing the angle of the shot. It can also be tricky to thread the lock cable through the holes attaching the box to the camera. On balance, I feel the camera is safer with it than without it (famous last words...)”
