“This review is based on using the Ursus camera for only a week so cannot cover eg battery life or longevity. It seems very well constructed and getting started was easy thanks to the straightforward menu, very clear buttons and a good monitor screen. Either alkaline or rechargeable batteries can be used (only six AAs needed, some cameras need eight). The menu allows many different settings; I started with those recommended by Nature Spy and have been experimenting with some small changes. With the sensor level set to "high" the Ursus has captured even small birds a few metres away (the sensitivity can be reduced, of course). The photos and/or videos on the screen are easily good enough to decide whether anything captured is worth a better look on a computer screen which, if done, reveals that the image quality is suprisingly good for a camera of this price. Overall a very good basic nature camera, so far, at least as good as one from a "big brand" that I used recently.”
