The BirdCam Pro is a lovely piece of equipment. It is well made, looks great and is fairly priced especially when you consider that profits will go to help conservation.
It was purchased for my wife who will mainly access it from her iPad, so I thought that I would do the full set up on the iPad, more fool me. After a great deal of cussing and frustration I thought, "why not just do the pairing on my phone?" DOH! Three minutes later everything was set up and my wife's iPad was accessing the camera.
I would love to attach some pictures or videos but I have placed it in a new feeding area and will need to give the birds time to find it.”
“I ordered the Ursus Nova trail cam and the WIFI Birdcam Pro and I'm so happy with both. The alert feature on the birdcam is addictive - I had to turn off notifications and just check it now and then or spend the day glued to it.
What I love about having both is that I have them set up to capture the same area from different angles. So I can check the Birdcam alerts each morning to see what has been detected in the garden (usually my beloved foxes) and that prompts me to go and get the SD card from the Trail cam to watch more detailed footage.
The trail cam video quality is excellent. Lots of options on the settings. I've used the work mode to just have it record between 3 - 10am and then from 5-10pm when I know the foxes come through the garden.
I love the bird identification feature and solar recharge on the birdcam. I've even found the siren useful when our local greedy seagull starts gobbling all of the food I put out for the other birds. It's also cool that I can share the login details to the app and the whole family can monitor the action in the garden.
In retrospect I would have spent the extra money and got the trail cam that has the wifi access but it's not that huge an effort to pull video from the SD card once a day and this also encourages me to try different angles when I put the cam back in the garden.
It's wonderful having a deeper view of what is right under our noses in our little patch of paradise and I'm certainly going to be taking the Ursus Nova away with me on holiday to the countryside to see what it picks up.”
“I love my BirdCam! It was easy to set up, and the picture quality is brilliant. We had birds using it within the hour, and I've really enjoyed watching the visitors - even the squirrels. Not experienced any issues with the feeder, camera or downloading footage at all.
The feeder is great quality, and I haven't had to change the original perch to the heavy duty one. I did think it might be a bit wobbly, but I needn't have worried. It stood up to the test of two woodpigeons jostling for position on it, and they're a pair of porkers!
It's also lovely to know that profits get reinvested into research, conservation and the community. You just can't lose, hours of fun for you, while helping conservation at the same time. Would recommend to everyone.”
