Very quick & easy to set up with app. I would recommend buying it with the mini tripod.

Took a while to work out best position and how to use but now starting to enjoy the ease of use. Holds the power well and easy to recharge. Easy to move around. Good quality photos and videos and easy to download. Picks up good Wi-Fi signal at the end of the garden, better than my phone. Great bit of kit.

Pros: Very easy to set up, robust design, picture quality pretty good on infra red. Cons: Takes a long time to establish connection even when %is over 90. So by the time the camera starts to record, whatever triggered is virtually out of shot. Saving to gallery is a bit frustrating using the camera icon. If you have action right at the start of the clip by the time you click on camera the action has gone. Range isn’t fantastic but it is a very small unit. Im still in the process of finding the best places to site the camera so hopefully results will improve. But it is annoying to see the still photo that presumably was taken at the point of motion detection then miss a couple of seconds while the camera starts up - example attached

Hi Al, Thanks for your review! You should be seeing a startup time of about 5-10 seconds. I'm sure you understand that having it instantly start is pretty much impossible currently - it needs to establish a secure connection, then start showing the video stream. There are also variables such as WiFi strength, how many obstacles are between the camera and the router, and even the weather at the time can play a part. I'm pleased to see that the camera did trigger so quickly on the hedgehog, so you've barely missed a step - this is ultimately why there is a playback feature. If you want to better utilise the live feed, I would suggest using a feeding station or bowl, so the hedgehog doesn't just toddle off under the fence within 8 seconds of a notification. Pop us an email if you need any help!

This is my second camera first one a year old, I have to say with this camera the clarity of the picture is much better.

This is the 2nd nature spy we have bought we have one in our hedgehog feed box and one that tracks his route around our garden. Absolutely fantastic product and very easy to set up.

This is not a wildlife camera, it can only be used near the house. Very disappointing.

Hi Heather! I'm not sure why you feel this is misleading. It connects to your houses' WiFi, which is what it says it does on the website - and what all the other reviewers of this product have been doing successfully. We can see about getting the camera swapped to something that doesn't use WiFi, that you can use in forests etc (but obviously will not have WiFi) - you've had the camera for nearly 2 months, but let us know and we'll see what we can do. Please email shop@naturespy.org.

easy to set up, clear view. tripod is perfect for moving it around, solar panel keeps it fully charged so no indoor charging required even in our rainy dull weather Sadly not as much wildlife in the garden at night as I hoped lol
