“I’ve said it before and will say it again and again: Buying a knife shouldn’t be crowdsourced, done cheaply or by what your buddy’s uncle said about X brand. A good knife should and will serve your grandchildren as well as you. Invest in yourself and your culinary future. That said, I highly recommend the high quality steel and veautifully Made in the USA knives from New West Knifeworks!”
“Like the other three knives I’ve purchased from New West, the 7” Santoku is an excellent addition to the kitchen. Like the others, the feel of this knife is excellent.”
“This is the fourth or fifth Teton edge, San Toku knife I have given as a gift, and each recipient has been beyond thrilled. The quality, craftsmanship, and usability are all they promise to be, I will not hesitate to purchase more!”
“Wow, just wow on this knife! If you want something that can slice through artichokes before cooking them, then cutting a nice tri-tip, then this is the knife for you! It's my 3rd New West Knife, and it won't be my last!”
“I am a home cook, and as a retired surgeon, an aficionado of all things sharp.
I am writing with that perspective.
The overall design and construction of the knife is among the very best that I have used.
More importantly the selection of the blade steel and the “non-stick” Teton etching are all about durability, edge holding and functionality.
The out of the box edge is more than adequate. I intend to use my stones to see how much the edge can take. Nothing like pushing the sharp was to the extreme!
My only personal “improvement” has need to round the junction of the micarta handle where it would otherwise meet my pinch gripped index finger.
Just a personal preference for comfort.
This is a go to high performance piece, and an addition to my five other New West Knifeworks weapons!
Good job folks!”
