SOL ESCAPE BIVVY The SOL Escape Bivvy is nothing less than a revolution in backcountry shelters. The complaint with most ultralight emergency shelters is the same: condensation builds up inside as you get warm, leaving your clothes soaking wet. With the Escape Bivvy, condensation is no longer an issue, and you never again have to choose between staying dry and staying warm. The proprietary fabric lets moisture escape at the same time that it keeps rain, snow, and wind on the outside – all while reflecting your body heat back to you. Waterproof seams plus a drawstring hood closure and side zip mean you can seal out the elements entirely or use the bivvy like a traditional sleeping bag, and the high-visibility orange exterior makes it easy for rescuers to spot you, even in areas with high tree cover. I bought the Bivvy for an emergency. Haven't had any emergencies requiring its use. But I'll keep you informed if and when I use it.

I purchased this bivvy for inclusion into my helicopter emergency survival pack. Over many years in the rescue service, I have used and seen the benefits of a reflective heat-conserving blanket in the treatment of cold-weather patients during their rescues. Since I fly for rescue agencies in search operations over sometimes very remote terrain, I thought it advisable to include the most confortable bivvy I could find to add to my survival pack. Helicopters are very reliable machines, but things can still happen to cause a helicopter to go down in remote areas or rough terrain. As such, I wish to be as well prepared as possible to provide for myself anf passenger should this ever happen. I will be adding a second bivvy to the pack soon.

I purchased two of the AMK SOL Escape Bivvy recently. The first one that I had purchased was at Denali National Park to have in my day pac along with other basic survival equipment for a day hike. You never know what's up the way! It's light weight, breathable, and has multiple uses. It stays in that day pac! The two I recently purchased are for our car trip we are taking up in the mountains. Consistently, I've used many of their products- they deliver what they claim. They do not take the place of quality equipment that normally should be used but in emergency situations when separated from that equipment-I ALWAYS carry AMK SOL products-even traveling overseas!
