I tried other beds, but nothing gave me the comfort and pressure relief like my Nolah. I have Disk Disease and arthritis so it was quite a challenge.

Before I bought this mattress I was sleeping on a memory foam mattress I purchased from Costco 10 years ago for $350 while in grad school. It was incredibly firm and I didn't sink into the foam much at all. It often felt like sleeping on a board. But it worked for me well enough, and the prices of all these fancy new mattresses really made me wait until I was desperate to replace mine. Enter Nolah. I searched out articles about the best mattress for side sleepers who like more cushion. Several pointed to this mattress specifically. I was very excited because in my limited experience on softer mattresses, I slept so well. I really thought this would change my sleeping life. But I was wrong. My first mistake is that I did not opt to pay the extra $100 to be able to return the mattress if I found myself in the situation I am in currently. It is honestly ridiculous considering most other mattress companies allow you trial period for free, because they know the risks of buying a mattress online. Nolah should do the same. Unfortunately they do not. When the mattress arrived it pretty easy to get out of the box and set up. Once it had the time to completely decompress I noticed that the queen size is slightly larger than my queen size bed frame. I have a standard bedframe I bought off of Wayfaire and has been totally fine. And It's not a large difference, like maybe and inch on each side, but it is big enough that it does not actually sit in the frame. This is incredibly annoying. How can the mattress not be a standard size? Then, when I laid on it the first time, I knew immediately I had made a mistake. When looking at the firmness scale, this bed is supposed to be a 5. I went into the Wayback Machine to look at old listing for the Costco mattress I had to see what they said theirs was because I couldn't believe how similar they felt. Stiff! This bed is stiff. The Costco one by the way was a 10. As stiff as can be. If this mattress is a 5, then I need a -3, because this bed does not flex well with my body. It does not feel good to sleep on. It has not improved my sleep. My girlfriend came over and remarked that she couldn't tell the difference. But I'm stuck with it because I didn't want to pay $100 for something that many other companies give you for free (for at least 30 days). Reader, be aware, this bed is stiff. There are some good things about this mattress: it actually does dampen movement quite a bit so that rolling over or even another person getting up often won't deserb the other sleeper. And this bed is quite cool. I would get so hot in the summers and occasionally in the winter on that old Costco bed, but I had it for so long I didn't realize that it was the bed that was responsible. This bed is quite cool and I find that I use a blanket even in the summer most of the time. If any quality of my sleep has improved, it is temperature. To summarize: pay the $100 in the event you don't like the mattress or you will be stuck with a board stiff mattress like I am. It is ridiculous to have to pay this, but it is part of the risk, I guess. If temperature while sleeping is all that matters, this mattress will keep you nice and cool.

This mattress is amazing! I was injured in a car accident over a year ago and am now left with permanent lower back pain. I did a lot of research to find a mattress that would allow me to sleep comfortably and this one kept coming up. It is perfect. I can now sleep through the night and I wake up feeling good, no longer stiff and in pain. I can also sleep with my legs flat on the mattress whereas before I had to keep a pillow under my knees. Super happy and I know this will give me many years of good nights sleep!! Also, just as a side note, I am a small woman (5’2”) and I opted not to include the mattress setup because I didn’t realize how big it really is. If you are also a small person on your own, you should consider getting the setup. I wrestled with it for a while and it almost got me a few times.

We have a king of this bed, and it has wore down extremely quickly. In just over a year, it is very very soft, we roll in toward each other on the bed, and it feels like the bed is very worn in. We doubt it will last as long as Nolah claims. For reference, both of us weigh about 200 pounds, pretty much average sized human beings. The queen we ordered couldn't be more opposite. It's so uncomfortably firm, and it still smells so bad of the chemical foam smell. When we leave the house for a trip or a long day out, we come home and the entire place smells like it even though we've had it since January 2024. Sleeping on it leaves a literal taste in our mouths. We are saddened that perhaps production has shifted since we ordered our first one, which makes sense since there are always these huge 35% off sales now. Perhaps the company is not doing well. We won't be ordering another and would have returned the queen had we not passed on the return option since we had already had our King.

I love my mattress. The shopping experience was excellent. I sleep through the night most of the time and wake up feeling rested.

My back was killing me every night on my very expensive but 7-year-old mattress. Read reviews, took a chance on Nolah and it’s been life-changing. No more back and hip pain, firm but oddly soft at the same time. Easy shopping experience, quick delivery and the 2 free pillows are my favorite part of the purchase. Hard to describe but they are so comfortable. I can’t recommend this company enough!
