“Was informed by Nolah staff that this was considered a "firm" mattress and that the sides would not sag over time. The claim was that there are individual coils covered by multiple layers of various types of supporting foam and latex. From the start, this mattress sags about 2 inches when a 160 lb person sits on the edge of the mattress. Photos and video are available.
Some people may consider this normal or acceptable, but for a person with Multiple Sclerosis it is almost impossible for the person to get in or out of bed when they have to combat raising their legs higher than their hips. They are fine once on the mattress away from the edge. Unfortunately, MS people usually get in and out of bed several times a night, and they need assistance doing this task with this mattress. We did not have this problem with our 22 year old innerspring Sealy Posturepedic mattress. Unfortunately, most mattress manufacturers now produce only these "hybrid" mattresses or pure foam mattresses. If the mattress can be compressed to fit inside a box for shipping then it probably does not have the firmness and support like the older mattresses.
Going to look at Saatva because I hear they have double spring layers. Disappointed that this Nolah did not work out and we can't return it.”
“I am 120 pounds but a little bit too soft for me. The front bed and back of the bed are supposed to be the same but totally disappointed when I discovered it, I imagined of low-cost box spring on the bottom side. what did I purchase???”
