“The jacket I ordered for work that I liked so much, I ordered one for the ski season as well!
I work outside in the rain all day and my initial interest in these jackets was not so much for skiing and snowboarding as it was for slogging through a nine-hour day in our year-long rainy season... And let me tell you: Northwest Tech delivered. Completely waterproof pockets to hold my electronics and keys and gloves and yes, even a peanut butter sandwich--never before have I been so pleased from a utility standpoint. It fits incredibly well, and the crew at NWT3K was so helpful, my whole team couldn't wait to get their hands on their own.
Onto the mountain... I've been skiing five or so times so far this season and three of those were in my own personalized jacket from Northwest Tech. I'm pretty new to skiing, but I love it, and this jacket is exactly the sort of worthwhile investment that makes me feel good about my purchase. I was up at Whistler in January right after they got all that fresh snow and let me tell you: the powder skirt does wonders to keep the snow off your back, the wrist gaitors kept everything secure yet flexible, and there's no part of this jacket that feels like it isn't meant for the mountain. When I have the stiff collar zipped all of the way up I couldn't feel the slightest draft of biting wind on the summit and when the blizzard of a weekend turned to a monsoon, this jacket shed every drop and I stayed bone dry underneath.

“After riding in this gear for a few months now the life on the material doesn’t seem to slow down. The waterproofing is the absolute best I’ve come across. We have been getting wetter snow storms here in Colorado and while riding the chair lift I’ve seen my friend’s gear get soaked and icy while I’m still dry! “This is a great jacket and meets all of my expectations. I loved that I could customize it and that is why I bought it. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is the price. This jacket was very pricey and I know it was the customization that made the price go up. Just seems a little too much to me.”
“The jacket works so well it seems to have kept the entire state of California dry. Hopefully by winters end the jacket will be put to the real test. However the jacket is well built and I am sure will last longer than most”
“Great product, comfortable and well made. Purchased my snowboard jacket earlier this season and have about 20 days out in it now (Only resort - no backcountry yet). Has held up really well against moisture/wind and can be compared to the other top quality material out there IMO. I'm in northern Michigan and have taken this jacket out in - degree blizzard weather a few times already and have been out in that sloppy awful slush too with no issue at all. Highly recommend, plus the customer service is awesome. These guys helped me big time with sizing, reach out to them before ordering and they will walk you through it.
Ended up going with a bit of a baggier fit then I have gone with recently (I'm 6ft, 230 and bought the XXL Long) but my movement is now completely unrestricted and comfort was key for me in this decision. Have had issues with jackets restricting my movement at the waist and shoulders recently so I wanted to make sure that wasn't an issue.
Worth the $$......Only thing to wait for now is the test of time. I'm optimistic though. Overall, great product, great service and really cool/unique development process. Definitely a company to support.”
