I have had this unit for 2 years. I live in Northern Idaho so I have the Cold Weather kit installed as well. Also have Battery Blanket too. It works great! We do loose power here and when it goes down my Onan goes on immediately. There is just a flicker of my lights and then generator takes over. Faster transfer when it is warmer out, not even a flicker then. My only complaint, that Cummins doesn't offer a full service contract like I have on my home heating system. e.g, Where you pay a flat fee for parts labor and service. Thought I had one the first year as I was charged over $300 for the tech to drive 30 minutes. When he got here he looked at the unit, changed the oil and oil filter. Still thinking I was on a contract this year, tech came out and changed the oil and filter again, however, after he left I realized he put in the wrong oil, he used regular oil which was wrong. It should have been Synthetic engine oil as the owners manual states, to which I contacted Cummins to come back and correct. Personally, to pay hundreds is way to much for an oil change. You can do that yourself once a year with filter change. You can buy replacement filters here from this site "Norwall." After 2 years I'd suggest you get Cummins Tech out to adjust the heads. Mine were done yesterday and they were loose and needed it. After that I would suggest have Cummins tech out once every 4 to 5 years to check that everything is tight in Transfer case etc. Great unit though
