Cummins Onan CO Warning Light Carbon Monoxide Detection and Shutdown
This generator comes equipped with a carbon monoxide sensor that shuts the generator down when it detects Carbon Monoxide.
The Onan P9500DF EFI is for outdoor use only, positioned away from homes and other buildings, with the exhaust pointed away from any persons or buildings.
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odorless, invisible gas produced by internal combustion engines and any device that burns a fuel to produce heat or energy. The CO shutdown feature adds an extra measure of safety to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning caused by misuse.
The Cummins Onan P9500DF EFI Owner Manual explicitly states that the generator is only for use outdoors. Keep the generator at least 20-feet away from any windows, doors, vents, or other openings with the exhaust pointed away from buildings and preferably downwind.
According to the Cummins Onan Owner Manual and Safety Decals, this generator May NOT run indoors. All homes should have a working, up to date, carbon monoxide detector on each level of the home. Use Battery Operated or Battery Backup CO Detectors.
Read the Owner Manual Before Use. Obey all safety instructions and all safety decals on the generator.
