“After using the digital scale for a couple of weeks, it positively changed my milling process. Taking the accuarcies accessment away from the analog scale speeds up the milling. I use the digital scale as the final tool with the analog scale for the initial setting and back-up.
Just a precautian. When installing the tool make sure that the cable between the Scale unit and the sensor does not run over the fixed analog scale. It can snag when raising and lowering the saw assemble.”
Thanks for asking about turning off the digital scale (model 41297). Just so you know, this scale does not have an on-off switch. The unit doesn't use much power and the screen does turn off automatically when not in use. It was designed this way to ensure the unit is responsive and always at the ready. Sawyers living in warm climates have told us the battery can last from the beginning of spring until the end of fall without needing to be changed. The energy draw may be compared to that of a battery in a watch.

“I haven't been able to use it yet. It only came with picture directions for installation and they are not very good pictures. I am searching for a you tube video to help.”
“Good unit. Improved yield and quality with easily repeatable stops. Would give five stars if the unit had an "off" switch, but batteries seem to last. Some small assembly and battery cover screws are easily lost if assembled in the field - snap battery cover would be safer. Useful accessory and I recommend it.”
“I mounted the digital read out on my LM2000. It sure took a lot of guess work out of the cuts. There is less wasted wood which means less work. Just wish that it would shut off when not in use.”
