“This unit looks great ans seems to be of good quality coming out of the box. The only reasons I only gave it a 4 star rating was because of some quality issues with workmanship. The log dog (item 4) had weld flashing on the hole which needed to be chiseled off so it could slide onto log support bar (item 3). The next issue is the Post (item 19) has a very rough finish on some of its coating which could lead to rusting when moisture hits it. The next issue is with the lift screw (item 34) seems to be machine to much on the top so the shoulder that the bushing goes over sits instead on the threaded part when lift screw is touching the base plate. This also makes the handle on top thread in to far so that when you use locknut against it the lift screw has 1/2 in of play to the bushing top. All things that should be caught at quality control inspection. I still like this unit and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks”
“So far a great product ,assembly instructions were easy to follow. It did take most of a day to assemble but well worth it. The best packing job I’ve seen in years. Every thing labeled and with the step of the system. After the set up was able to cut 3/16” thickness as well as a table saw . Highly recommend end this tool.”
“I really like this mill I don’t have to bring the logs to the mill. I take the mill to the logs it does a really nice job for me. But one day I will have a band mill”
“It took a little bit longer to assemble than I had thought, but I got through it. The assembly book is very well put together with good descriptions and drawings. Now that I have ripped up a few logs, I have a pretty good idea about how to use it so that the cuts are straight and parallel.... The only negative I have is regarding the dogs, and with a bit of work, I will make some 1" angle iron pieces to go between the pointed screw(which slides off when working near the bottom of a round log) which should not slide down and provide a much more secure hold.
Other than that it is all good.”
