“The pieces are made fine. But either the spindle is a little too big or the cap is too small (the pieces that go into the lid). The one we purchased prior to this was tight, which I lubed up with a little olive oil. That kind of helped, but eventually the spindle broke, I believe because it seized in the cap. When the new one arrived with the same issue, I put the spindle in my lathe and sanded it down slightly so that it was a looser (not sloppy, but could spin without dragging and sqeaking) fit. This seems to have fixed the problem. Might be good to check your inventory, and see if something needs to be changed.”
