White Universal Plus - Baker's Bundle Reviews

4.6 Rating 105 Reviews
Best mixer I have ever owned. I have 2 others that look nice but don't do the job the Bosch can. Powerful, simple, easy to clean machine - allows for large batches with thorough mixing. It's fantastic and has made baking easier for me in many ways.

I am still learning about the mixer and attachments. But, it mixes thoroughly and quickly making the process easier. So far, I love it.

I have been watching for sales since the beginning of the year. I was still doing research over the holidays and missed those great deals. I saw that the BUP + bakers pack went back on sale for Mother’s Day. My old mixer died the next day, so I took that as a sign that it was time to order. And I sure am happy I did. I LOVE this machine. Yes, machine. There’s a reason it’s called a kitchen machine rather than a mixer. This kitchen appliance is engineered / designed so well. The bakers pack bundle is $20 more than what it was at Christmas, but it also includes two additional items (the silicone baking sheets and the icing kit). I have already used the baking sheets a couple of times (they’re great). I know I’ll use the silicone cupcake liners and icing spreader from the other kit. Idk if I’ll be ambitious enough to use the bags and tips… maybe. But they are nice, and I especially appreciate that the tips can be changed outside the bag so you can easily use multiple different tips with the same bag of icing. This bundle is really everything you need for baking. You can technically do it all with just the wire whips and dough hook; but the additional attachments will make cakes and cookies much more convenient; and, even though I haven’t used it yet, I can already tell the bowl scraper is gonna be awesome! And the dough hook extender included from NutriMill really helps with the smaller batches of bread dough I’ve made. Plus the metal whip driver seems like an important improvement to the BUP. The bulk of the negative reviews I read seemed to be about the plastic whip driver. Before washing everything and using my new Bosch Universal Plus, I downloaded a digital version of the user manual and read the whole thing. I highly recommend doing this. The BUP is unlike any other “mixer,” and the info in the manual addressed most of the concerns raised by product reviews. I followed the instructions and ran the machine with the wire whips and plastic driver before washing everything. There’s some food safe lubricant on them which needs to transfer to the machine. The bowl scraper is tight and a little difficult to snap in place (even tougher to remove once in place). I’m keeping it on the metal whip driver and put the plastic one back in the box for now. It’s easy to snap on and pull off all those attachments (wire whips, cookie paddles, cake paddles), and I store the driver without attachments. I store the machine with the dough hook + extender in place. Speaking of that, the machine is only about 13 pounds. It’s light enough to not need to keep it on the counter, taking up space. The BUP isn’t really “pretty”… not for decorating a kitchen. It’s a workhorse, designed to make so many different preparation, cooking and baking tasks much more efficient. Highlights from what I’ve learned which some reviewers must not have read include cold butter, dishwashing, and the different attachments and speeds (how and when to use them). Also,…
