“I currently own 2 Kitchenaid mixers and have started sourdough, along with other bread products. The mixer works fabulous for mixing, but there are some major drawbacks. First of all, measuring ingredients directly into the bowl takes a very large scale so you can see the numbers. After you mix, which is does very well, the cleaning of the item seems to be a bit of a task. There are multiple parts and ridges at the top of the bowl that are a little hard to clean. Some items can't stay wet and need to be hand washed each time. Understandable, just not as easy to use as a Kitchen aid bowl and dough hook. I wish I would have had better reviews before purchasing. Also, I thought I would be able to do 4 loaves at a time, and 3 seem sto be the most it can handle without the water going over the sides! Ugh!”
“My family has used the Kitchenaid stand mixer for a number of years. When working on simple recipes it works fine. But we have put it to the test by working up large baking recipes and nut butters. The Kitchenaid always overheats. I started hearing about the Bosch Universal Mixer and did my normal research. After reading all of the reviews, I ordered one. Wow, this thing is a work horse. If you are on the fence, jump off and buy one. You will not be disappointed. I included a slow motion video of the Bosch kneading bread. It kneaded for ten minutes and barely got warm. I use it about three days a week and haven't touched the Kitchenaid.”
