“Do not use this product for large batches of dough, the paddles will splinter and break at the grinds. I used room temp butter (68-70 degrees, I checked) and in quantities the mixer should be able to handle. But as soon as you add any other ingredient (in my case, just sugar), it’s too much for the paddles and they’ll break. I’ve given the paddles three chances now and each time has been a (literal) bust.
Nutrimill’s customer service was great, they sent me replacement paddles the first two times it happened, but after this third round just busted on me again while simply creaming butter and sugar, I will not be using these again.
I want to like this product, I really do. But after losing almost $100 in butter and other ingredients I cannot give it more than two stars - and the only reason I didn’t go one star is because on the random occasion the paddles don’t break, they do a way better job at creaming ingredients than the Bosch dough hook; however, in my opinion it’s not worth the risk. If these paddles were made out of the same metal as the dough hook and all other attachments you typically see on mixers, I have no doubt they would be more reliable.”
