“Very nice slippers with the convenience of being able to be worn out in public without looking like a hobo. They are quite comfortable and overall a solid buy. I wouldn't say they are worth the $130 but $99 for sure.”
“Purchased as a gift for a woman who wanted a darker color than the women’s slippers are available in. Even with unisex sizing these slippers were still a little wide. Having a darker color with nuback leather finish would be a great option in women’s sizing too!”
“I purchased the Kīpuka Hulu, black size 11 a month ago. I find myself actually going out of my way, to walk to the other side of the house, to put on these slippers. They fit like a glove, for your feet...a foot glove. I only wear them sockless, as they have form fitted themselves to my foot so well that I don't want to take the chance of stretching them out of the "perfect" fit. If I decide that socks would be needed, on occasion, I'll buy another pair, just for socks.
Every so often, I take a damp microfiber cloth and wipe the black nubuck leather upper, just to sweeten them up. They deserve to look as good as they feel...and it only take about 3 seconds for each.
They still do not ever slip off my calcaneus, as I climb the staircases in my house and that is hugely important. I HATE slippers that want to fall off.
The gel insoles are comfortable, supportive, absorptive. They have a wool blend footbed cover where your foot makes contact with the insole. This wool blend footbed cover is comfortable and I don't find my feet feeling too hot as the wool blend cover must allow for some circulation. The negative...the wool blend itself seems to be wearing away and actually balling up as it is being pushed away on the areas where the foot is transferring it's load to the top surface of the insole. I'm not sure if an insole's footbed cover could be made any better/stronger or more resistant to this inevitable occurrence or not. If Olukai can solve that issue, I'd say this Kīpuka Hulu slipper would be absolutely perfect. Olukai, if you're listening, I'm willing to test any newly designed insoles you can up with to remedy this issue. :)”
“I bought these as a Christmas Gift for my husband. I think he'll like being able to either wear them with the back heel up or just slide his foot into them. They look comfy, well made, nice material. Just hope they aren't too big!”
