“I took the advice of other reviewers, and chose a coat 1 size larger than usual - I would normally wear a size Large, but chose a 1x Large, and it fit beautifully over my lightweight puffer jacket, with more than enough room for my favorite cozy large scarf.
Pockets are generous - I have my yak tracks in one pocket, a flashlight in another, a beanie hat with light in yet another pocket, a pack of tissues, and still have enough room to lose my car keys at the bottom of one of the pockets.
Ironically I can't say whether I felt the heating elements of the coat, because I was so bundled up, but I can say that the wind-shielding properties of the coat were great. I have a Siberian Husky mixed dog who insists on having the windows down when we drive, and this coat kept me warm and protected from the winds on a 21 hour round trip drive across all of southern Pennsylvania, up to the Vermont/ Canada border, and back again, in February.
There is a draw cord inside the coat, along the waistline. If I wore this coat without a jacket underneath, I would use the drawcord to make this coat a more streamlined fit/ to trap the warm air inside the coat, and I expect that would keep me warm enough with the battery heater on.
I am glad I bought this coat at the sale price of $150 including battery, and at the sale and outlet prices would not hesitate to give this coat as a gift.”
