The pocket for the battery is coming apart and fraying. Barely used them. Disappointed. Also very tight in the arch.

Product performs as expected. Exactly what I needed for super cold ski days. Ororo has excellent customer service!

I wear these socks when working outdoors. My job requires steel toes with metatarsal protection. For anyone that has to wear these when working in the cold you know they suck the heat out of your feet. The first time I wore them I was working on a dam and I was the only one who wasn't complaining about their feet being frozen. I have had them on low for up to 14 hrs and still showed 1 dot on the batteries! The only thing I will say is don't wait until your feet are cold to turn them on if you are worried about battery life get a second set and be comfortable all day.

Love all of the Ororo products I have purchased in the past and wanted to love these too. I ordered a size small for my 12 yo daughter and was disappointed to find that they do not fit her in the calf. She is a normal sized child, certainly smaller than an adult sized calf and they are non returnable or exchangeable. She can pull them up but they leave an imprint on her leg and are uncomfortably tight. I can't comment on the heating portion since we never got to use them.

I backed these on kickstarter, unaware that on the same day my girlfriend had bought me a pair from another company as a Christmas present. Gives me a unique opportunity to compare Ororo's Redwood to another brand. These are good socks - they fit well, they're warm even without the battery. I particularly like the exterior pocket for the battery which is simply well made - easy to slip the battery in and out and easy to verify that the battery is on and at the right level. Little details like these are important and make a strong statement about the product quality. Unfortunately, I bought them to wear while riding horses, and there is no way that the sock and battery will fit under my chaps. The socks my girlfriend bought have a slim battery, shaped to align to the calf that fits inside the chaps. On the other hand, their battery has to be slipped inside an stretchy pocket inside the sock. Redwoods are good socks; but I can't wear them for the primary purpose (there is space in the Redwood sock for a thinner battery with a lower profile, and I'd be willing to pay for another battery).

So far so good, the batteries charged over night. I have the sock on now and was only outside, it’s 23° today and my feet are warm and happy. I had bought a less expensive pair and replaced them twice in the first month. I’ll give my second review in a few weeks to let you know how they hold up.
