“I would definitely recommend this vest. I wore this to a cider mill and it definitely kept me warm in the low 40s. The battery life will last a whole day and night event on high. Just be careful because significant others will take the jacket once they find out what you have.”
“This was a replacement for 1 ordered 2 months prior on amazon. This is also a more current model which was surprising to learn we were sent an outdated model the first time considering the order direct from ORORO was also shipped by and under the same company name that is on Amazon and from Amazon. The company on Amazon had slow response to the issues we had with the original vest we ordered. The model we were sent the first time had heat zones that quit working after only 7 weeks of use. in the 8th week the heat zones quit working 1 at a time until only 1 was still working when we sent it back to amazon for a refund and ordered direct from the ORORO website only to have the new one come from the same place as the first one. This one, however, is a newer model and came with a more complete accessory charger which included the adapter for European power use and the button turns pink when the battery is low. This one also appears to have heavier wires in the vest itself. Hopefully, the new version last longer. Hubby LOVES his replacement vest! Also, by ordering direct from ORORO web site, you can print out proof of the company 3 year guarantee on the vest that you pay extra for on Amazon. The interesting thing is that I did not receive a response from the company on Amazon until I pressed for the A-Z Amazon refund and that could have been because of Amazon as Amazon serves as a middle man between buyers and sellers and Amazon doesn't allow anyone to talk to live people anymore even when you are a seller( I use to be a seller that is why I quit using amazon to sell) so am blaming Amazon for not forwarding the company's reply back to me until days later. I hope this helps folks with issues with the older models and how to tell the difference.”
“I recently used this vest during a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro. At lower altitudes, the vest was comfortable and warm without the battery. On summit night, I used the vest directly over my base layers. I only activated the battery when we stopped for rests as the high winds and freezing temps would chill you down VERY quickly. This vest was the PERFECT solution to that. Turn it on when stopping and then turn it off once we began moving again and let body heat take over. This vest is a WONDERFUL piece of equipment in similar situations.”
