"Amsterdam" Heated Mittens 2.0 Reviews

4.5 Rating 20 Reviews
My wife and I are using these for skiing and really like the heat they provide. Having wires running down the fingers including the thumb is great. I'd go for a 5 star except the battery life is much less than expectation. I'm running them on one bar of heating and only getting 3 hours of heat. The battery pocket seems like it could support a battery maybe 50% bigger. That would be a good improvement. In the meantime we are planning to buy additional batteries.

I do love these mittens, they do not heat up as warm as I would like them to but they do the trick. I am also having trouble with one of the mittens where I have to unplug the battery and replay it back it before it will turn on. I will be contacting customer service about this concern.

Well made mittens. Heating is warm and comfortable while not too hot to cause sweaty hands. I am going to enjoy my mitts.

I do Search & Rescue and got frost bite on a mission and ever since can't keep my hands warm. The mittens have kept my hands warm even in very low temps but the batteries only last for ~3 hours. Tried to turn up heat when cold and down to low when hands are warm to save energy, still lasted ~3 hours. Sock batteries last much longer (larger) but ororo uses slightly different connections for the jacket/sock/glove so you can not share batteries in the glove - it fits fine. I have started putting two glove batteries in the pocket and swap them when the first set dies. The larger sock battery would solve the issue - ororo please standardize on your connectors so batteries can be shared across products! The glove battery is also difficult to disconnect without pulling on the cord, the way it is so close to the side of the battery with no grasping point makes if very hard to remove in cold weather leaving you the only choice of pulling on the cord and assume that will pull apart if I do that so struggle with trying to pull it out with my bare hands.
