Sizing/order & exchange
I usually wear a women's medium. When we opened them on xmas, I realized it was much too large - I wrote Customer Service to see if I could exchange it for a small, and I received a terse response that yes, I could, if it was not worn & still had tags. When I got the small, it still seemed a little baggy, but since I'll be wearing it over other clothes (in theory) I figured a little baggy would be okay.
Heating
Because it's a little baggy, it's just not that warm. Worn over other clothes, it's not that warm. I thought I'd be excited to take it skiing, wear it under my ski jacket, and turn it on for the chair, and off when I started to get hot - I'm now thinking there's no way this is going to make a difference on the mountain, and esp. since it's baggy, I wouldn't feel it even if it were warm. Mostly it is good for sitting at my work desk and warming my back like one of those microwavable back pillows.
Battery life
I pulled on the vest with a fully charged battery this morning around 8 am. I had it on low, and it was dead by around 1 pm. Maybe I have a defective battery? I dunno.
Conclusion: wanted to love, was excited to bring skiing/hiking, but it's not functional enough, warm enough, or with long enough battery life, to really be useful in the way I hoped it was. But it does work as a pleasant back-warmer when sitting at my desk.”
