I was in the market for a new tackle bag and went through several options before finally landing on the Black Magic Tackle backpack. My first choice was the Shimano BlackMoon backpack—great quality, but the color combo didn’t appeal to me, and it lacked the space I needed. Next, I tried the Calcutta 5 Tray Rolling Tackle Bag. Although it had the right amount of space, the layout of the wheels seemed problematic, and the extendable handle felt wobbly, even for a brand-new bag. That didn’t sit well with me, so I moved on to the SKB TakPak. The SKB TakPak seemed to check all the boxes and was going to be the one I kept. But during my search, I stumbled upon the Black Magic Tackle backpack on an auction site. I hesitated at first because it was an international purchase, so I decided to give the SKB a try instead. After a few days with it, however, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Black Magic backpack. While the SKB was a solid bag, small annoyances kept popping up. So, I ended up returning it and ordering the Black Magic backpack. I should’ve just gone with the Black Magic from the start! In my opinion, it’s the best tackle backpack out there. The others weren’t bad, but this one truly stands out. It’s durable, well-made, incredibly spacious, and comfortable to carry—everything an angler could dream of. I can’t recommend it enough; I’m confident it’ll last over a decade at the very least!

This tackle bag is exactly what I have been looking for! I had a standard backpack, but grew sick & tired of not being able to find what I need, things getting lost in the bottom of the bag, and worst of all, all my hooks & swivels getting mixed up due to being put in vertically. This bag solves all those problems - line, and other tools are up top, easily identified quickly. Hooks, swivels etc are all organized in the trays, kept horizontal and separated from each other. Knives, scissors, brag mat etc are all easily accessed on the side pockets. I also drone fish, and use the lunch box as a place to store my rigs on pool noodles - perfect to keep it all together. Otto's delivered this quickly, & best of all, with free shipping! Perfect.
