This Long Shank Tow Bar Tongue has a maximum rated towing capacity of 3000kg making it ideal for light towing tasks such as small trailers, dinghy trailers, pop-tops and small caravans.

“The reason I bought the LONG shank was to overcome two problems the SHORT one had... but only with the POLY BLOCK HITCH mounted on my Camper Trailer
(1) The Back Door of the RAV4 just knocked the PIN.. the LONG Shank gave me the room needed to avoid damage
(2) The Second issue was the offroad poly block ADAPTER BRACKET.. It was designed for the 75mm tongue of a LONG SHANK . So the offroad poly block adaptor did not lock onto the tongue like it was designed to do. Therefore choosing the long shank overcame the safety issue I had with the short shank that had a tongue of 50 mm that would not lock the poly block adapter safely no matter how tight I tried to screwed the nut on.
There was another safety concern and that was that the LONG SHANK might sway the RAV4 because of its extended length, but having tried it last weekend I found there was no issue.
So all in all a perfect choice and a great success”
