“I was excited to receive several boxes of the Cascade .22 HV 40 Grain ammunition, from Outdoor Limited. The info write up was promising. My take while shooting and post use was not as compelling as the advertisement of this newly sourced fodder.
From my experience I found it inconsistent from round to round. The one thing that did standout, “no FTF, OR FTE”. Used in a bolt action, and a semi-auto rifles.
Shot at 50, and 75 yards, there were no consistent groupings from either rifle. The bolt action rifle consistently shoots sub-MOA groups, at 100 yards as well as the lesser distances shown. My best 5 shot group with the Cascade, was 1.75”-2.5”.
Bottom line this ammo, is probably best used for plinking, and larger vermin around the homestead. With today’s ammo prices, this ammo is still a bit on the high side.
Good luck and make good choices.”
“not too familiar with rim fires, but it seems to hit close to where I.m aiming at.Not going to blame the ammo if I don't hit the bulls eye all the time”
