“I shot a Model II S&W AR-15 (5.56). I bought 600 rounds of Wolf .223 55 grain FMJ Steel Case ammunition. After shooting 30 rounds and experiencing two jams, the rifle became so hot that either the steel case expanded or the lacquer of the shell melted causing the spent round to become frozen in the barrel. It would not eject and the range officer could not remove it manually with a steel plunger, knife or needle nose pliers. When I returned home, I had to soak the barrel with Break Free gun cleaner for an hour and use the cleaning rod with a rubber mallet to free the shell. Since I shoot often, I bought the Wolf ammunition since it was at a very good price, and according to the reviews, would perform like the brass shells – they don’t and now I am stuck with hundreds of rounds of useless ammunition that is not compatible with my S&W AR-15 Model II. The bottom line is this is Wolf Steel Case .223 is inferior ammunition - you get what you pay for – I should have paid the extra money for brass 5.56 or .223 ammunition to avoid the problems I described.”
“These guys have constantly kept ammo in stock, I never have a problem with steel case, just clean you rifle regularly and not a problem. I will continue to use Outdoor until Biden stops online ammo sales, hopefully that won't happen, but who knows.”
